I think NHRA rules prohibits unless you have a firewall or bulkhead of some sort.

Better than adding another tank in the rear is to just tap into the cars tank (fittings available for steel or plastic tanks). I did and run an inline on my aux fuel system. That way you can also have the full race gas rather than a watered down mix of race and standard gas combined. Besides that, it's a lot cheaper.
