Default Idle issue

Now that I have my cam in and tuned when my car is cold it idles like crap. Is this just the nature of the cam beast? I have my idle set at 900 but when it's cold you have to feather the throttle up to 1300 or so and just set there for a few mins.till she warms up. Then it is fine. So is this the way it is? I just thought with my cam not being very aggressive I wouldn't have this issue.
Thanks for your thoughts!

what you can to is play with the IAC settings, and also the Idle settings for engine coolant temp to RPM. Did you open the throttle bleed hole in the throttle blade when you did your cam, I assume you have the cam in your sig, also look at the spark table for a the temp range you are having issue with as well. What are you ising HP tuners or EFI LIve?

It is not the nature of the beast, it is tune related.

You need to leave it with your tuner and have the cold start tune tweaked. I had the same problem.....

90% of the time that bigger than stock cam just wants more air (via IAC) and a good base spark..~24 degrees.

There are numerous tricks to control your spark from dropping (overshoot, undershoot) and idle airflow learning manipulations to keep it from stalling.

I kept my stock M6 Idle at 800rpm..with MAP at ~45-50Kpa at idle.

Trick is to be great friends with your tuner, or get a top quality mail-order tune, or learn how to tune yourself.

Your cam should idle near perfect. Keep at it!

The Damn car died yesterday when I turned on the air Conditioner right in a stop light!! I got it started and back to the shop. It's only throwing one code. "back fire"! He thinks it's a bad plug wire. I ungrader to new ones when they put in the Cam. I still think it's a tune issue. Anyway, I left the car there so it could cool down so he could touch it. The tuner guy is coming back this morning and he ordered a new set of plug wires. So today better be a good day or you guys might be reading about me in the newspaper!!

A 228/230 112 should pur like a kitten at all rpm, cold or hot start. That's going to be a tune issue.

Some people just set base running airflow to get the car idling, and don't tune for cold start. The car needs to be tuned after sitting over night to get cold start correct.

What code number is it exactly? I'll agree it sounds like a tune issue.
