What can I gain w/ TFS heads
My motor is a 383 ls6. Ported ls1 heads, 230/234 .592/.598 116. All the bolt ons.
This is what it made on the dyno..............
If I kept the same cam, what do you think I can gain from swapping the ls1 heads for TFS 225s or another head in that league?
If I go with a bigger cam along with the better heads what kind of numbers are reasonable?

prc 215s ftmfw!! they are cheaper than trick flows, out flow then (not by much but still) and you can keep your stock rockers unlike trickflows so thatll save you an additional 450 right there. i started a thread and a few people put some links on there. they made over 450rwhp with a cam just like yours. one guy actually made like 470 or 480rwhp and that was on a 346

Yes I have a Fast 90 right now.
I want to make a minimum of 470 if I do a head change.

what kind of compression would you be shooting for? would you like lwoer, or go with a milled head and/or gasket for a little bump? that would also allow you to run a slightly bigger cam and still be mild mannered.

Mods are in my SIG and that HP is on a mustang Dyno, I am using a set of TF as cast versions and love them, I think they are the best bang for the buck right now. Call Vengeance they usually have them on sale. I think you should be making more than 447 hp? Who did the work? Could you be off a tooth? Just my .02

I don't think you're going to gain 40 more rwhp over an already ported LS1 head w/ a TFS 215. First being that we don't know how well those heads are ported. Your motor is making great power, that TQ curve is great. Do you have any specs and/or flow #'s on your current heads?
Last thing. If the valvetrain is not set up perfect, your power fall off way too early. It takes a lot of attention to detail to get the rockers set up on these heads. DO NOT order the Trick Flow pushrods with the heads, they are almost always the incorrect length. This should be the last thing you order after you measure.

Cartek did the head porting and I do not have flow numbers. Will even a great set of ported 241s keep up with the demand of a stroker?

nickolbag,
We have several members on this forum with 383s making excellent power with TFS heads... 9secondsflat runs our VRX5/TFS 215 combo and is making OVER 500RWHP/500RWTQ with excellent street manners.
Depending on when/who ported your heads I would say there are definately gains to be had going with the TFS cylinder head.
As Damian suggested, if the valvetrain isnt set up properly you will see power fall off early. Fortunately this isnt specific to TFS heads. It is engine building 101 for ANY valvetrain you are assembling
Give us a call if we can help you out. We are currently offering 150.00 off roller rockers with the purchase of TFS cylinder heads.

look at the torque curve on the tfs...its a flat line...i have a 383 also...get the heads a decent cam....and you should be well over 500 rwhp...i made 532/472 on the vette dr's dyno ... the car idles perfect..no surging, bucking...i can drive the car down the road at 1300 rpms and dont have any problems. my car has run side by side with a new zr1 from 30-150...he could not pull me. check out the vids... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAB1H4F5pvs

Not 150$ for a set of rockers, they are offering a 150$ discount off the price of the rockers with a head purchase. not a bad deal at all
OP, the TFS heads are for real. I made almost exactly the same power as Litle88 with my with my TFS215's. I want to say mine and Litle88's cams are almost the same as well. I dont know what compression hes running but I was at 11.1 and through an auto.
