Before I bought my 799 heads, I made a similar post and did a lot of searching.

Some LS2 Corvettes came with 799 heads, and some even had one 243 and one 799!

Most people don't know about them and sell them for cheap.

I got mine for $120.

is there any difference in the valves from 243/799, i mean, is it true that only the ls6 243 castings came with sodium filled valves. or is this true to all 243/799 castings?:

only the true ls6 243 came with the sodium filled valves, no other cathedral port heads came with them. however the ls3 are supposed to have sodium filled valves irrc.
regular 243 and 799 come with solid valves. includes ls2

car make 490rw with unported 243 and 2.02 valves, but on a 375ci engine.
so if anyhting they will support 500bhp+ in there stock form and stock valves with matched cam, supporting bolt ons and tune on a 5.7
chamber is 65cc, stock 243/799 will net around 10.5:1 on a 5.7 stock ls1 shortblock.

Do you think 400 is possible with my current mods plus the addition of long tubes, underdrive pulley, 220/220 cam and tune?
