Default Will I really need new shocks?

Hey guys I'm planning on purchasing some hochkis lowering springs so I have something fun to do this winter. Along with lowerings springs do I need to upgrade to new shocks also or will the car be fine without them. I have a 98 Z28 with stock shocks and I'm hoping to get by because I don't have all the funds for shocks right now. Any info would be appreciated. Also are there any good links to write ups on a spring install?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I've been on my Eibachs for 3 years now, with stock shocks. I know the ride is nowhere near what it would be like with better shocks, but it is much better and you will be ok until you have the cash!

Thanks SSG Z28 Good to know that I can lower the car without buying springs right away. Yeah I gotta scrap up some more cash before I do much more to the car. The 18" rims on the car make it look like an offroad buggy. Anyone else have any imput on if shocks are needed?

How are you going to lower the car without springs? Anyway if you can get the money do the shocks at the same time you do the springs, otherwise the car might become very bouncy and you could have trouble getting traction. Just my opinion though.

You "can" lower the car with the old shocks (I did) and it will work for a while. Just realize that over time (6 months for me) the shocks will go out and then you will be bouncing down the road like a ricer.

Doing it again, I would have waited till I had the money to do both at the same time.
