Replaced the F1's - Finally Can Hear Again!
Eagle F1's were completely worn out - replaced them with Dunlop SP Sport Signatures today.
First thing that was missing is the incredible road noise!!! While I really liked the handling of the F1 A/S's, the noise at the 3/4 to end of life was too much, especially the past month. Overall the tires performed very well through the life of the tire, especially in the wet. Would still recommend them to anyone who wants an aggressive tire. I have not had a failure or a flat in 40k miles!
I switched from replacing the Goodyears with Michelins because of the price - my toss up was between the Pirelli P Zero Nero and the Dunlop SP Sport Signature, which were both at the less than $700 mark installed. Dunlops were ranked right with the Michelins at tirerack so I gave them a shot. Noise, handling and wet traction were my main concerns.
Have not seen rain with them yet.

Yeah they are supposed to be an all season high performance tire. Lost nothing in off ramp and S curve speed so far. I saw a little rain tonight but no issues.
I wanted a tire that was more conventional. We have a '95 Lumina beater with Firestone FR380's and that car walks away from the MCSS F1 A/S's in the snow, as bad as a summer drag race.
And I know the feeling you have on the sound!!!

I never looked at those - our Berettas and Luminas in the 90's came with Eagle GA's which I thought was an all around great tire, especially in the winter.

Noise update -
The thing I notice every time I get in the car is that I now can hear the radio at 1/3 volume, never could hear it below 1/2 with the GY's. "Loud" is now at 2/3 instead of full volume while on a roll.
I also could not hear the exhaust, which now I can, even off a concrete wall on an on-ramp.
Ride quality is much better, but did notice the sidewalls aren't as stable as the GY's, which you would give up for the better ride.
Never knew how loud those tires really were.

The new design on the GT is far superior than the old GAs. I really like these tires so far. The GT name has been around a long time but these new ones are nothing like the old ones. The issue with noise on our cars is the directional tread design. The GT can be rotated anywhere on the car because is isn't a directional tread so hopefully the noise and cupping issues are a thing of the past for me.

I've got the ALS F1's on my car now, and I agree that they are really loud. What I can't figure out is why they are so much louder on fresh, smooth pavement than on an older road...
But, they are almost as loud as the LT bias-ply mud and snow tires I used to run on my 77 F250 when I was into trucks.
