i just got a ss black hurst ball from speed inc. just put it on and the handle is way to long. there is a big gap where you see the bar in between the shift boot and the ****. what short stick will cover it nicely and fit with the threads my **** has? also can i see pics i dont want it to short but i dont want the stick as long as the old one also. thanks!

I took a grinder to my hurst shifter and made my own little shifter. Had problems with a few other short shifters - kept sliding even after I put lock-tight on the threads. That was the only way I knew how to make it my own length.

yeah i just took a dremel with a cutting disk to mine... worked fine and it was free...

check out the classifieds and get a short stick for $10-15 shipped. dont hack up the piece of **** stick. get a new shifter while your at it too

i should rephrase my comment...

I bought a pro 5.0 shifter and cut down the handle that came with the 5.0. the factory one still has that bushing in it and is the suck, even if u do cut it down.

^+3, I cut 1" off my Pro 5.0 years ago, and put a Stainless Steel TWM shift **** (height adjustable) on it, the only thing is that their pricey! But well worth it IMO!
