Default people without cats, quick question!

OK, I gutted my cats and everything has been fine, but I've noticed that when it is cold out my car seems to dump an ungodly amount of exhaust out the rear. I'd almost describe it as "pouring" out the back lol. I obviously assumed the car would be putting more stuff into the air without cats, but it just seems kind of excessive. Is this common for people without cats, or do I have another issue?? The car is running fine and this is only noticeable when it is cold out.

The amount of exhaust is the same, with or without cats. It's just no longer filtered.

That shouldn't happen. I have a 78 Z28 with true duals and no cats, and I have no smoking problems or anything like that. My brothers 2001 Z28 has gutted cats as well and there is no problem with it. Do you have any upgrades, if so have you tuned your car?

Thanks guys. Like I said, it isn't smoke, it is just exhaust. The car only does it when it is cold. I figured it was just all the unbroken down fumes, but I'm really paranoid about my car

Nothing to worry. But just curious to make sure you either got O2 sims or tuned the O2's out

Id go with an ORY pipe. Gutted cats causes turbulence in exhaust flow

I have a lot of exhaust coming out of my car also. I don't drive it in the winter, but when i start it every week and let it warm up all the way. I have just an open y pipe so steam comes from all around the bottom of the car. It looks pretty cool haha

When the car is cold the o2 sensors are cold as well, so the vehicle is in Open loop and running rich until the o2s warm up and can properly meter air/fuel ratio...

Probably incase of a visual inspection by cops. Only reason I can think of.
