Question Handling issues??? Ideas on cause...

2000 M6 SS with a 144k new KYB shock and BMR springs does not need an alignment. The car is all over the road, the sightest bump or imprefection and its not going straight. It almost feels like a constant issue to keep it in lane (and this is at regular speed 45-60 mph). Tire pressure is good all around, even wear, so it not sometihing super simple as that. Ideas?

check your bushings?

mine does this but not bad really. and mine only has 55k on it. so i think stock f-body suspension is just kinda sloppy.

Why doesn't it need aligned? What KYB's? AGX's are the only KYB I'd even consider.

^^^ my first thought about the alignment as well. just because the wheel is straight when you drive doesn't mean the alignment is good.

how wide are your tires? wide tires tend to cause the car to pull a bit with any ruts. also check for loose lca and phb bolts. stock swaybar endlinks rust pretty bad and snap from time to time as well. also some people are big on bump steer kits after lowering. i don't have one and i'm fine.

i don't know how bad your symptoms are but my car used to pull and jump around a bit and i usually drove with 2 hands on the wheel. after going from 32/19 swaybars to 35/21 the car is a lot more controllable. i've actually gotten compliments from people on how well it keeps a line even over bumps and on poor pavement.

The Shock are AGXs, stock tire size, and as for the alignment, I brought it in for one but the tech said everything is within spec??? I checked the bushing and they seems fine.

Are they lowering springs? If so it throws your camber off...or is it caster? I forget which ones which...anyway, it causes the top portion of your wheels to angle in and you'll need an alignment to fix it...

Have you tried firmer or softer settings on the shocks, if you have has it made any difference?
Have you recently put different/new tires on it?
It could be the tires.

I would check wheel balance, are all your wheels straight? Does the car seem worst at faster speeds?

Wheel bearings man. Try that. Had a very simmilar issue a while back. Turns out one of the hubs up front had the slightest bit of play. Pulled all over the place. I only found out because the tech doing the alignment found it. I got lucky that guy knows his stuff. Wouldn't do an alignment untill I got it fixed and didn't charge me for it.

Or could be tramlining. These car are notorious for it. I run 1/16" toe in and it all but eliminated it. The wheel bearing check is a good idea and worn tires can also contribute....

It is some serious tramlining... Going to recheck my bushings, and may have to look into different tires.

I had kind of the same problem on my v6 years back, it was rolling in turns acting like wet fish etc.

turns out the end of my swaybar connecting it to the endlink had broken off (Had 145k on it ironically) and I had no swaybar function at all, it was just floating on one side. Got a new swaybar and end links problem solved.
