I was just wondering everyones opinion on which headers to get for my 98 camaro ss. I want the best ground clearance and the easiest install. I dont want to modify anything or cut ,notch,bend,etc. I am going with cats to a gmmg cat back. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure he meant to say stay away from Pacesetter, and to go with Kooks or another stainless header. Some people don't use proper grammar and/or punctuation.

To the OP, what type of budget do you have in mind for the headers?

I went with kooks and couldn't be happier, good ground clearance and i did not have to tweak their fit at all.

ARH heard they slip right in, have a nice merge in the Y and are stainless.

Pretty happy with mine Not sure why they suck so bad fitment was good. Mine are Jet Hot coated though, and not the **** coating from pacesetter they were recoated from FX. Maybe thats what your getting at.

Not sure what your budget is, but I highly recommend Kooks. They're a little pricey but the fitment is perfect, very high quality, and they sound awesome. I picked up a **** ton of power when I added my Kooks LTs and their catted y.

There is NOTHING wrong with the construction quality or fitment of Pacesetters. I have used them in the past on my own car, and installed many sets on other cars. No, they won't stay looking good forever, as no coated header will.

I LMAO when I hear someone talking about X brand header and how they "sound awesome". ALL headers will sound identical to the human ear. What is it that's gonna make them sound different?

Basically you have the choice of spending more money for a high end stainless header that will last the life of the car, or you can go the cheaper route with black painted or ceramic coated that will still last a long time, just won't look as good after some time passes.

Personally, I had Pacesetters on my current car, and I sold them since I am changing setups, and will be replacing them with ARH. It's a personal choice, but it doesn't mean I think Pacesetters are junk, cause they are not.

LPP headers here..... no complaints good ground clearance - high flow merges... stainless

car makes 345hp 351lbs/ft with LPPS and an ls6 intake.... they have proven to be a good bolt on for a VERY reasonable price

I got the ARH headers and y. I have better ground clearance than I had when the exhaust was all factory. Fits awesome, great merge. The only thing i wish it has was a ball flange like the dynomaxx headers (i think those are the ones) I hate slip fit connections.

Thanks for all the info I'm now stuck between KOOKS and ARH. Someone also mentioned something about Dynatech Supermaxx headers. Anyone have any experience with them. I think I'm leaning more towards the ARH because everyone says they have a better catted y and merge.

Why stay away from pacesetter?? They are a great header and you can get them with their armor coating.... for under 400 bucks they imo are the way to go. Youll make the same power as a slp header, not to mention they are way overpriced.

Im from illinios and have no problem with them and have several friends using them as well. So i dont know why all of you are pacesetter haters out there...... But i strongly recomend them.
