Where are you putting the cutout? If its under the rear passenger seat like most people do, there is a rubber grommet right underneath the rear passenger seat underneath the carpet.

It was a pain in the *** mounting that switch there. Had to remove the drivers seat to bring the wires right underneath it. Had to drill a hole to make the switch fit. I tapped into the seat controls for the electrical.

Follow this link. At the top right hand corner you will see the rubber grommet. https://ls1tech.com/forums/album.php...pictureid=9215

[QUOTE=cheeseLS2;12865951]i was thinking of putting it in my center counsel ash tray.

don't use the cig. lighter for power
that will run the battery down, you need a power source the turns on with the key, I found an empty fuse block , ran a wire w/fuse to the ash tray, underneath the car I put a x in the rubber grommit & ran the cutout harness under the carpet & came out under the center console, the switch fits perfectly in the ashtray

Ok i thought the cig lighter was a good idea, does the seat mounting drain the battery? Since u can adjust the seat with out the car having to be on?

It wont drain the battery. The only way it will drain the battery is if you open/close your cutout with the car off. You don't need a switched 12-volt source.

my qtp cutout came with a led lit switch which stays on all the time if hooked up to a live wire, that's why I hooked it up to a switched ignition wire, (will not be an issue if you have a switch w/o the light in it)
