weird oil pressure problem
when i start it cold the oil pressure is 40 or so. but when the car is driven a while ( around 30 min ) i notice that at a stop light the pressure is down to somewhere in the nieghborhood of 25 and will literally bounce back and fourth. when i go to accelerate it will increae but only to like 32-34 or so. i changed to oil from 5w-30 to 10w-30. cars got 127 on the clock. the car has never had this problem before and im curious to what would be causing this.

I was putting my OPSU back on a little while ago with the OPSU "special" socket....and the sumbitch broke. Its so easy to break the bastard.
You have to really concentrate on keeping the socket perfectly straight up and down. Any tilt and you'll snap the black part off the metal nut.
What another **** design by the morons at GM.........
It might be possible to change it with the intake on, maybe. But that would make it all that much harder to get the new one back on without breaking it.

you should use a oil pressure gauge to check the pressure and not the sending unit.
if you are using an oil pressure gauge and have low pressure and high miles it could be a worn pump or more commonly excesive clearance due to bearing wear
