Default Slipping Monster CLutch III?

Hey, I recently made a thread, because I suspect my Monster clutch is slipping...

I dont wanna jump to any conclusions yet, but Im pretty sure it may be the clutch... It only has about 2000 miles on it and Im only at right under 500rwhp.. Its on a 2002 camaro.

Also I dont wanna blame Monster or anything, because they were excellent with their service and Im rarely seeing failure with their products.. and now come to think of it, I experienced a really rare thing when I was taking my T 56 out for a rebuild... water came out of my bellhousing when we dropped the T56...

if you have water in the bellhousing thats causing the clutch to slip, thats not SNL's fault. you need to address that issue before you look into clutch failure.

Water will not cause the clutch to slip.

You serious? You think a little bit of dripping water is really going to effect a clutch disk turning 6k rpms? Hell no, if the water isn't slung off in the first place when it touches the clutch it'll evaporate immediately when you engage the clutch. Especially if the clutch is already hot.

we smart guy, if water came out of the bellhousing when he took it apart, its obviously not evaporating.

First of all, I DID have less severe slipping in the past, but didnt think anything of it, because I didnt know what it was..

The car seems to only be slipping at low RPMS under heavy load.. It isnt slipping at high rpm and its seems like its more in 4th/5th and especially 6th gears... vs 1st/2nd, 3rd...

So could it just be the clutch has been contaminated w/ some water and will eventually wear itself in??

Of course it was in there, the car was obviously sitting for a while if he was pullin the tranny. Smart guy... You don't think the clutch gets wet on a humid night? I'm tellin you, a little water won't hurt ****. Oil is a different story.

Check all your water ports, freeze plugs, etc when you're back there with the tranny out. Make sure you don't have any oil leaks either. Sounds to me like you possibly received a doomed clutch. From what I read Monster takes care of there customers pretty well so hopefully they'll fix you up! No body is perfect, maybe you got a bad one. Also make sure all your hydraulics are good.

when I take it apart I will check if everything is good. But everything should be good all the hydraulics are also new and upgraded when I changed the clutch..

I just got on today and recieved your pm.

Please give me a call at the shop and we'll discuss your slippage... also, I'm betting there isn't water in your bell housing, I'd be willing to bet it's brake fluid.

Call us, 817-750-2000!
