Default cam with stock pistons?

Hey, i was wondering what is a good cam to run with stock pistons and 243 heads, i wanted to run MS 3 or a 233/239, .595"/.603" cam. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

As far as handling power, stock is fine. a Good Dyno tune will make it great. The only thing that MOST people recommend is checking PTV Clearence as the MS3/4, TREX, cams is run the ragged edge on those clearence issues.

You need to explain more.

What HP level, where is the car going to be mainly used etc etc.

Start your research in the Dyno section and GENIII Engines.

BlackScreaminMachine is right. Take your time and research was others have done and what would fit your needs. There is a ton of info on this forum and just about every question has been asked. It says that you joined here last month. There are alot of variables that go along with power selection. If you have a t56, putting a MS3 and decent heads on will eventually destroy your rearend for sure for one. Take your time and see what you want to do bro.

Both of those cams will work with the stock pistons w/ factory LS6 heads. What do you currently have done to the car? Is it an auto or manual tranny? Is it your daily driver and what are you goals for the build? Let me know or give us a call and we can get you fixed up with the right combo to get you where you want to be!

its just a ls1 with ls6 heads and an ls6 intake, and a built 4l60e tranny. I just want something that makes good power so i can race it on the weekends and maybe at a stoplight or two
