Default What is this

I bought a 2000 t/a motor out of a wreck. I am putting this in my 1969 Vette. As I was taking apart the engine to rebuild it I cam across this item. It has a electrical connector and 2 vacuum ports. 1 goes to the back of the intake It is located on the driver side of the engine back toward the firewall. Do I need it? Any help would be great.

It's for the AIR system, emissions stuff

Since you are doing a retro-fit you won't need it
