Default little update as to what I've been up to the last few months

been diligently working on my chassis update (converting from 7.50 cert sfi 25.5 to 6.50 cert sfi 25.3)

The cage work is now pretty much done and am now putting the floors back together (had to cut them out to do the extensive under-car cage work)

Complete 25.3 cage

Finished driver side floorbars

Finished passenger side floorbars

Passenger floor panels tacked back in

how do you fill the gaps between the spotwelds? I'm looking to cut some out by the back seat area.
Looks real good fireball.

for sheetmetal that you don't want to warp, you keep just spotwelding the gaps go round and round until they are 100% done (this keeps the heat down). I don't care about the floors if they warp some...but this thin sh%t blows holes way too easy to try to run a bead with...I may just silicone bronze the rest with a TIG torch...not sure yet.

*mike tyson voice* niccceeee

Didn't take very long to cut up the car again. How long has there been a 25.3 cert? When you built the car the first time did you build it up the highest spec cage at the time(25.5)?

25.2 was the highest cert back then, but it was limited to 3200 lbs. 25.3 just came out a few months ago. its almost as fast as 25.2 (6.50 vs 6.00) but allows up to 3600 lbs

Amen to that. I've had the open donation out there for a while, back window's got alot of room on it for advertising I keep telling everyone.

Looks great though, alot of work, but it's coming along good. I'm collecting pic's so I can make one of these threads hopefully soon myself Got some stuff done yesterday myself.

Nice to work on the car and not freeze while you're doing it

Car looks prime for a hard-top conversion. Good job.
