Default some t56 rebuild questions

i just got my t56 core to rebuild just got some questions

where can you get the long gear puller for 5th i think?

is there a way to up grade to a viper shaft?

What are the normal strength up grades people do?

how much power will this thing handle?

1) Buy one from GM/Kent/etc. or make one
2) Buy one, Pay to have one installed, make one
3) billet keys, bronze fork pads, steel fork
4) 450lb-ft to 800lb-ft depending on a dozen variables.

Link. I'm having a hard time finding one for ya. But I found custom puller that ole' T56 Rebuilds, Joe, made. Looks simple to make.

I use a 2-jaw puller; an OTC 1040 for the 5th/6th gear.

Mikronite was a polishining process done to the gears. I believe the company has went out of business. They were the owners of Crane Cams as well but they went belly up and had to sell off the business.

Granted tools are not cheap, especially if only rebuilding one unit. But if you chip the teeth off your 5/6 cluster and have to spend $200 for a replacement, you'll wonder why you didn't have a better tool for the job...

According to T56 rebuilds, Mikronite finishing extends the life of the gear by more than double. They were a great company and stood by their products 100% and had excellent customer service. I miss that place, my buddy ended up going thru some back-woods garage to have his T56 rebuilt.
