Default How to identify REAL slp CME tips/valence?

I might be purchasing some CME tips and Valence locally. The seller says they are real slp parts off his 2002 Camaro. How can I tell if they are the real tips/valence? The tips actually you can easily tell because nothing else looks like them, but I'm trying to see if the valence is real SLP and not ebay/6le. and whats the going rate how much should I spend on these? Thanks.

There's no way that I know of to tell the difference and the tips are replicated as well. No reason to pay "real SLP tax" price if he is trying to jack the price up on you.

The replicas out there are molded off the same piece so just tell him you can get a brand new one for $300 shipped (that's what I'm selling for in a GP right now) so you're not going to pay more for a used piece (unless it is painted to match your car or something).

Also, if it is unpainted I can guarantee you it is probably NOT an original SLP piece...

Thanks for the info, is the SLP valence fiberglass or urethane? He sent me a pic and it looks to be gloss black painted valence.

SLP is urethane just like the one we are selling in the GP (our FG costs more).

Actually, I think one way to tell is that the SLP was actually a little thinner and floppier feeling...

How much did you end up having to pay for all of it? That's cool though get some pictures up! You don't see too many LT1's with CME it will look awesome.

I got big work ahead of me, gotta get my car home first from where it was sleeping all winter and start removing the stock exhaust manifolds cat and egr/air. clean up the engine bay with painted intake and put the LPP headers in and undercoat it, then put the 3.42 rear axle in it. Buttttt I'll put it on real quick and take a couple pics lol.

I can tell! Aftermarket SLP tips have more of a bent angle to them and the OEM tips are more straight and MOST of them only have 1 bar and not the reinforced 2nd bar. As for the valence... the after market ones are slightly bent on the bottom of the right sides near the tips and the tire. Now, some OEM valences are rounded at the edges where the valence meets the bumper. I can post pics if you'd like.

Yesterday I decided to test fit the CME tips and valence. I just taped the valence on and clamped the tips on real quick, the valence lines up niceeee! Fits awesome. I'm pumped to finish everything with the car and then just drive it with this lol. I love it I think it looks really good, makes the rear look lower too I think. I was going to paint it silver eventually but I'm actually thinking about leaving it black because it looks pretty good with the berger and goes with the black/sulver thing goin on.

Before with Magnaflow tips:

SLP center mount:

Pic of front to get an idea of black/silver sexyness:

paint the valence. I could barely tell it was on the car in the pics.
