Default L99 to Ls3 Swap HELP!

Almost finished with the swap on the weekend and ran into a problem.

On the timing chain cover, the l99 has a 4 prong plug and the new ls3 timing chain cover has a smaller plug. What goes there?

use the short harness from your L99 engine, and just plug in the cam sensor and leave the vvt harness and tape or zip tie it to the side

L99 is the 6.2L engine that comes in the auto 2010 Camaro's. They come with VVT and AFM. The normal situation is to swap lifters, lifter guides, head gaskets, head bolts, camshaft, cam gear, front cover, (sometimes) oil pump, valley cover, and then tune the computer. It is basically to take the cam phaser off and take the DOD off.

John any updates on the prices?

Can I just swap the lifters and valley cover and keep the VVT, I just want to delete those weak lifters and DOD. Any advice?

You can just swap the lifters, valley cover and the lifter trays yes. Sorry on the pricing ill try to get something up tomorrow when i work the front counter here.

You will need THESE PARTS for DOD delete only.
Head gaskets
Head bolts
GM Valley cover(nonDOD)
Lifter trays (LS2)
Lifters
Someone to turn it off in the tune.

Depending on the valley cover you use, you may need the tube that runs from the valley cover to the intake. Or make provisions for blocking it off or routing it to the normal PCV system.

Don't you guys give up on the VVT! The DOD lifters do suck, but the VVT is absolutely the future. I expect we'll be seeing LS3 guys going to L99 VVT pretty soon.

ok guys,, need a little info and some help. i have a 2010 L99 camaro. ordered a comp cam, lifters, torque convertor, valve springs and hardware, intake, kooks full length stainless headers, kooks high flow catted mid pipes, kooks exhaust, crank pulley and push rods. I pulled the motor out, removed heads, and first noticed the lifter holders in the L99 would need to be changed to the LS3 non DOD AFM style, not a huge deal(ordered), changed valve springs(no problem). Removed oil pan, pick up tube and oil pump. Pulled cam phazer from cam, removed cam and installed new cam. Reinstall timing gears and phazer assembly, torqued to cam bolt/oil valve. Looked down cylinder#1 lifter bores and noticed that with #1 at tdc the cam lobes were already on the ramps going up, phoned comp cams and they said it was normal and all was ok. reinstall timing cover, and went to install new crank pulley. New pulley will not fit onto crank because of timing cover bulge due to cam phazer, so ordered new LS3 timing cover, cam gear, cam sensor and harness. Started looking a little more today and even if i do put on the new cover with this pulley,, the water pump, alternator, and p/s will all be 1 1/4 or so out of alignment. Also i understand that i will have to order the LS3 lifter valley cover and oil pressure sensor, on the up side the torque convertor fits and so does the exhaust,, so far. Can anyone else help me out on what i will need to do, what i will have to get and if i can get the L99 crank pulley in a performance underdrive[what make and p/n] and if i will have to use the LS3 timing cover or whether the L99 cover and cam gear can be left in. also if the cam gear and bolt/oil control valve is left in and the lifter valley cover is changed to the LS3 cover will there be any concerns. I am started to become a little frustrated and any help would be awesome! thanks

Use paragraphs please and complete sentences. It makes what you are writing easier to read and respond to.

#1 What crankshaft pulley did you purchase? PN?

#2 What exactly are you asking about the rest?

#3 If the crank pulley did not fit in the first place due to the timing cover, then it is the wrong pulley. You are working backwards. You need the parts to fit the engine, not the engine to fit the parts.

Did you ever get this figured out? I am trying to use LS1 accessories and crank pulley (due to clearance issues) on a 6.2 with VVT, but so far it does not look like that will work.
