Default Torque arm issue

Well I think this is a torque arm issue, but I'm not sure. Any input would be great. I have this rattle whenever I shift at a speed higher than about 25, no matter how smoothly I shift (trust me I've tried). I think it might be the torque arm. Kind of a clunking sound, hard to describe. Sounds like it's coming from the back of the tranny.

Car has stock suspension entirely and 67k miles. Anyone know if this is just an issue of worn out stock suspension parts or if it sounds like a non suspension issue? If it is a worn suspension issue I guess I'll just have to get a new rear suspension oh darn.

Check the stock transmission mount.

But then again your shifter doesn't jump around as if the tranny mount is broken (which is a common sign). To others on this forum I've ridden and driven the OP's car, hence the reason I know this, lol.

John, I still want to drive your car when I get back from Hawaii to see what I think of it.

I would suggest to check your torque arm and torque arm bolts. I have the same problem with the UMI torque arm and relocation bracket (off the tranny). I'm gonna put locktite on the bolts tomorrow. Hopefully this will help me and you!! Good luck

Yeah the three things it could be would be trans mount, torque arm bushing, or the rear torque arm bolts

Hello
Like mentioned above! I would make sure the hardware is tight. And another suggestion is check the bushing on the trans mount. When they go bad your torque arm will be able to cut through it. And it is possible were you clunk is coming from. If you are interested in upgrading to a poly bushing we offer them for $14.99 + S/H for stock torque arms. Check it out and leave us know whats up.
Thanks
Brad

Well next time I'm under the car I'll check the hardware and the mounts out. It's not a huge deal to me just a little annoying especially when downshifting.

Brad you're tempting me I go to your site to look at new bushings and end up drooling over new torque arms.

If I were you I wouldn't wait to check the hardware. I had my bolts come loose and I said the same them and broke the whole rear of the torque arm off the next day
