2001 Camaro SS Exhaust Advise
I have a 2001 Camaro SS that I have done a bunch of mods to. I am looking for some good advise regarding changing the exhaust I currently have on it. Currently I am running long tube headers, without the cat converters, into a y pipe into loud mouth cat back exhaust. Its beginning to be to loud for me. Anyone have any good advise on an exhaust setup this will still produce good power, but cut down on the loud sound I currently have? Let me know, thanks!

With out cats that loud mouth is brutal. It's pretty much a straight pipe so it gets loud and raspy. A good dual/dual system from SLP is a nice option, I can get you one of those for $699 shipped. Corsa sounds even better and has very little rasp or drone. I can get you that kit for $1000 shipped.

If you want to keep the quad tips I would suggest modifying the loudmouth...I have seen tons of post on here about a borla-mouth mod. There are other variations as well I would do a search, it is a common problem with the loudmouth systems and LTs with an ORY being too loud and raspy.
If you are going to look into a new catback my personal opinion would be CORSA, its what I have and it sounds amazing to me...or another option would be the magnaflow system I have seen tons of people on here with that system too and many seem to be pleased with it. CORSA is expensive, and definitly has a differnt tone than the magnaflow will have, but it is stainless so it will last forever.
Just my 2 cents...

I would not vote for Corsa for you. Mine got a little loud and raspy for my tastes after the cam. I have gotten compliments on it though. I do have cats. The consensus seems to be to add mufflers to the LM1.

I would really like to keep the quad tip center mount with rear ground effects as I spent the money to get it all painted and it looks cool. I havent seen another car around with it. If I went the muffler route like some above mentioned, would I be able to fit two of them under the back or would they be to long? I know I would have to do some cutting of the current pipes that are there. I know the normal muffler used to mount in the middle. Let me know, otherwise I might just have to sell the whole loud mouth setup with quad tip center and ground effects pieces and buy a new cat back along with new ground effect pieces. Basically, does everyone thing just adding mufflers will take car of my problem?
Thanks!
Thanks!

SLP doesn't sell the Dual/Dual system any more, but you can piece one together. Summit racing carries a 3" i-pipe that will work (aluminized, not stainless) and SLP did have replacement mufflers (their site is down right now, so I can't check it). I pieced a complete Dual/Dual together with all SLP stainless parts except the i-pipe for around $500. It is the best good flowing exhaust that won't blow your ear drums.
