Default Converter tested !

Well, we finally got some good weather and I've been able to drive the car around to get the suggested 150mi. (normal driving) on my YANK SS4000 Converter. What an amazing difference. I came out of the hole at idle (600rpm's.) and flashed the converter. The car SCREAMED through 1st. gear. Then I tried a rolling start at 30mph. and broke the M/T's loose again. I very impressed with the performance and the trans is working perfectly through all the gears including OD. Our local track opens in 3 weeks and I can't wait to see what change I get in performance. I'll post new results.

That is the "RECOMMENDED" break-in mileage as per YANK. No vids yet, I'll be workin on them next. Good luck with your converter. I'm sure your gonna love it!

WOOOO yeah i love my SS4000!!! wouldnt buy any other stall! ive cut 1.70 60ft's with a little spining out at our shity track, but it still ran good, esp for the D.A. we are at most of the time. im waiting on a MS3 and she is losing lots of weight and then going to a nice 1000ft d.a. track and going for 10.99 time slip cam only!

Looks like you got yourself a fun car there. Good luck with the 10.99! I'm hoping for middle to low 12's.

It takes some rpm's to get it moving (around 1500-1800) but once it shifts into 2nd gear the rest of the shifts including overdrive seem normal. When slowing down to make a turn or just slowing for a signal the downshift is a little sluggish. "BUT"......... for the feel of the car and the VERY NOTICEABLE take-off, I'll gladly sacrifice the difference. And in a few weeks the track opens and I'm hoping to see a gain in performance. Also my car is not a DD.

I just got my new circle D 5c (4000-4200 stall), and it's a huge difference over the junk TCI 3000 stall I had. Can't wait to get mine to the track either.

ive read a few people like to stall yanks up as much as possible on the brake to launch the best, and a couple have said lower RPM got better 60fts, so honestly you just need to test it out yourself.

I always launched mine off idle, stalling to 2000 or so works well also, keep the 10 bolt in mind, it doesnt like sticky tires and big stalls

Thanks, input is very much appreciated and I do understand every car and combo is different. What works for one may not work for another.
