It will be wicked fast but I agree about the trans being able to hold it

So no manual tranny can take that kind of power?

I'm talking about 1/4 mile

Not that is commonly known.

Best of luck to you.

put a progressor on it and dont power shift it and it will last a little while. but thats a **** ton of torque to hit it with all at once.

I blew my stock main shaft like a twig, but Taner has been beating his liberty T56 for awhile now and been into the 8s and low 1.3 60s.

You'll need either a Liberty Equalizer trans or a Lenco. Either should take that kind of power. The Liberty will require a slipper clutch and you won't be driving it on the street. The Lenco will take anything and everything you can throw at it and you can drive them on the street. Lots of cutting on your tunnel though.

I'd re evaluate your plan... at that level of power a glide is a simple no brainer IMO.

Good trannies, but I doubt they'd hold that kind of power even with an adjustable clutch. Especially if it's going in a heavy F-body. An auto would definitely be easier. Just not as much fun. I'd go with a Lenco if it was me. As long as you don't mind pretty much completely redoing your trans tunnel.

440ci, 400shot, and manual trans sounds like the most wicked beast known to man!!!
stick with the manual trans man! don't let them convince you to go auto! real race cars have 3 pedals! it can be done, joe honeycutt is a perfect example!

I hope your not planning on using an LS7 block for this build. The cylinders won't take it.

LOL, That's what I was thinking.
