Default Got tuned today....

Well I got the car tuned today after doing the cam swap. I am a little disappointed with the numbers, but I figured that what what it would be with the small cam.

Mods:

222/226 596/598 115 Cam

K&N Intake

Muffler Delete

366hp/352tq

I had Patrick G spec the cam for stock manifolds, but I should have followed my gut and went with a bigger cam. I still have the high flow cats to put on, but don't think that will gain me much. Ryne from CMS did the tune, and everything is spot on, drivability is great.

damn called that on the other forum, not bad numbers. Did you do a baseline to see what you made without the cam? You might make 370 with the cats.

Any idle vids? id like to hear it on a 115.

6300 max power.... I'll try to get an idle video, but it sounds pretty stock. Didn't do a baseline before installing the cam.

gotcha......i bet you can barely tell its even cammed. my guess is you picked up about 20hp or so from the cam. I baselined 343 with K&N CAI and muffler delete.

Sounds about right....pretty dumb for spending 700 dollars plus tune haha. I see a bigger cam in the near future.

I hear ya, i have a 232/236 and have had it for a week and already wish i would have went bigger but its the initial expectations that get your hopes up haha. I know its a great cam and the car runs good, all i have to do is maximize the cams potential with an intake manifold and set of heads.

Are you in agreement that long tubes aren't worth the hassle? What power are you making now?

Nope I actually think I felt more fromt he long tubes then the cam haha, i havent driven it a ton yet with the cam though. I picked up 22 from the headers. they did a run before the cam and i made 365(CAI, muffler delete, kooks with HF cats) with 1 7/8 kooks. So i picked up 22 fromt he long tubes, 35 from the cam. I wish i wouldnt have been a tightass and bought the kooks a long time ago.

With RT cats, Corsa and k&n CAI with a tune someone put down 360rwhp on the other forum. He said the RT cats were worth about 10rwhp and definately noticeable SOTP. I know the cats you were going with flow about 100cfm less than the RT's though.

Damn, maybe I am an expert.

Sorry you didnt get the numbers you were looking for. I said the same thing when I got my cam and my wife said it 6 months after she got implants..."I should have gone bigger".

I'm wondering how that Camaro with a stock LS6 dropped in it made 430 with this came and long tubes...

Sorry I thought I was in another thread haha. Sounds like the camaro had some other mods then the OP. A F.A.S.T. intake, long tubes and U/D pulley would get you close to 430.

From what I remember all he had was UD pulley, ported TB, and long tubes. Stock LS6 intake.

So I'm wondering where I'd be at with a ported TB and long tubes.

I only made 400 with kooks 1 7/8, CAI, and the cam in my sig(larger). I cant see that guy making 430 without a very very very generous dyno. ported TB is good for maybe 5hp.
