What heads and Cam?

What heads and Cam?
My brother is trying to turn his 94, m6 Camaro into a formidable street machine. We need help building this monster. Would you guys lean towards an lt4 hotcam kit with trick flow heads or go with an AI or Lloyd Elliot Stage 1 or 2 set up. Either pkg would have supporting full exhaust, lca, panhard, and sfcs, with a dyno tune. Any inputs would be usesful. Also what gear ration would you consider, he currently has a 3.42 set up. thanks!

Ported 200cc stock castings from www.advancedinduction.com with a matched custom-grind billet cam, along with 4.10 gears will HAUL ***. I'd poke a nod in for Lloyd Elliot too, but he's been having some minor issues lately.
Trick Flow heads with the hotcam will be an absolute dog and a waste of money.

The TFs are nice and all when ported and milled, but using them as-cast and with a small cam will pull down static (and dynamic) compression. Those heads really shine in the hands of a good porter though. I'm not dissing the TF heads, I'm dissing the TF heads mated to a hotcam (or any other smallish cam for that matter). If you're after sheer power and are cool with just tossing parts together, it'll work, but that's about it.

In addition to the reduction in compression due to the TFs having much larger combustion chambers, the standard run-of-the-mill hotcam will be hard-pressed to make use of the additional port volume. There's just no need (or use) for so much head potential with such a little cam.

ok I see where you are coming from if you are talking about their 195s but I am sure you are aware that trickflow offers more than one set of heads for the lt crowd. Their 21* heads have 54cc chambers and work pretty good with smaller cams due to the small runners and would not drop compression. Granted there are heads out there that will make more peak power but these heads are a good value for 1500 and seem to be pretty good performers from the limited amount of information that has been released

curious at to any issues I have had recently.
I feel fine, no health problems and I am doing great.
I have been swamped with work and no time for the forums lately but is there anything more to this story than that?
Just wandering.

the motor i just built last summer is AI's 190 heads and their 226/234 cam and it makes amazing power clear through the powerband and makes some very very good torque. o and i drive it every day 60 miles round trip. super streetable. i have 4.10s with my m6 and love it

I have been running an LE2 H/C/I package for the past couple years and it has been great. It performs very well on and off the track and it has been money well spent. IMO, a stock ported heads/cam package from any reputable vendor will be all you guys need to make a fun and powerful street car.

Either LE or AI package will be a hell of a lot better then a hotcam with off the shelf heads. If you do not want the downtime from a porting service, a cam like the 503 with 21* TFS heads should be a lot of fun on the street.
Lol everything from LE seems to be making gobs of power lately, I have not seen or heard of any issues at all.
His stuff keeps getting quicker and quicker no matter how swamped he is.
