I got a 95 lt1 and recently it started surging every time I go to start the car.once its starts the surging goes away. it also sounds like if my battery was running low but is not and the tach starts to bounce allover the place when this happens.I would apriciate your guys help.

I got stock heads ported,234-246 at110 lope seperation,long tubes,cai,3500 stall,roller rockers,2000 miles on motor .when the car is running its fine the problem is only at start up.

Could you provide some more details about the problem? What do you mean it surges on start up?

sounds to me like its hunting for idle at start-up due to a poor tune, my SS does the same thing. With a large cam like that on startup the car starts to hunt for idle and its related to the tuning.

You can search the forums for "hunting for idle" to find more info. What kind of tune do you have? should consider having it retuned either way.

You say the tack is jumping around? Well in my case it was the Opti signaling me so long...Mine would run rough at start up then get better as it warmed up, then finally soon after the opti went out...

I think he means while its cranking. What do you mean by jumping around or is the tach sweaping from like 5k slowly back down to normal

the tach bounces while cranking and the surge sounds like if the gears from starter are slitely grinding .opti has 2000 miles on it.Im going to check the wiring to the coil and ignition module.
