yeah with a good set of tires it wouldnt take much to get those times. i had a 3200 edge that was putting me at 1.9 with the absolute worst launches in the world .

I would go with anything above a 3000 stall...you will absolutely love it and with a good set of tires...1.60-1.80 60ft. times are achievable

In my experience, suspension and tires matter more.
Can't get below 1.9x, spinning all the way out, on
street tires or MT ET Streets.

Thanx Thunderstruck. Is that with the Chevelle in your signature? Also, that Comp Cam in your signature, is that 224 intake - 230 exhaust? How do you like that cam?

A 3000 converter could cut those times..

But why so small and such a slow 60' goal?

I cut alot of high 1.6 60's with my 3600 on M/T Sportsman Pros 26/9.50 on some old salad shooters. My mods are in sig. Motor is 100% stock, rear end and gears too.

This is a street car. I know that my suspension will deliver on a 1.8 on my street tires. I am not building this car for slicks or drag radials. I just want enough converter so it is not lazy.

With the right converter it will be easy. I have a 3800 billet and have driven the car in traffic,3 hour trips blah blah. At the track with Mickeys 1.7s everytime with stock rear. Hell I would have gone with a 4000 stall if I did it again with the stock cam.

im basically stock 100k, with headers and a SS3600 yank and 3.73's . it cuts consistant 1.80's on DR's. I should be cuttin 1.7X's regularly.

That is good to hear. I really want the tightest converter that will deliver a 1.8. I generally find high stalls annoying on the street. You are the 2nd person I have seen running a fairly tight converter with the 224/230 cam. Is that the Comp Cam?

If that is all you want.. Go 3000-3200. I of course suggest more... But if that is truly all you want, it will meet your goals and make you happy.

Look at something in a 2.2 STR, that will help on keeping the "tight" feeling on the street.

This Stall Torque Ratio is something new to me. That terminology was not used back in the day when I was racing. I will tell the guys at the converter company that I want it to drive "tight" on the street. I am just glad to hear that you can specify such things these days.
