about to put them in and just want to make sure i do this right

Seems like some people use threadlocker, others use thread sealant. I used red threadlocker on mine as well.

Perhaps you should consider GREEN if you WANT your studs to LIVE.

i used teflon sealant on mine. but i do on alot of stuff.

I used teflon thread sealant. I wanted to make sure i wasnt going to have any vacuum leaks..

If the heads are ported (the OP does not specify) and any of the stud holes go through, then use some sealant.
