Default Which is most likely to fail 1st

The drivers side power window switch or the motor itself? Rolled my window down today, and now she's stuck!

The motor.

On my old 2002 Z28, the driver side motor went out at 48k miles.

I've seen motors go bad but never a switch yet.
easy to test the switch tho and you might get lucky.

motor for sure. but like he said test the switch first its easier at least. Never seen one bad myself but maybe.

If you own an f body you have to be good at changing window motors, theres just no way around it. thats a huge piece of glass.

Default Window

Yea the radio and passenger window still work, of course i have the slow rolling paasenger window. The radio is aftermarket, not sure if that matters. As far as a replacement i know the stealership is rediculous, would you guys recommend one from napa or o'reily's?

check rockauto.com if you don't mind a couple days for shipping

edit: looks like they have motors for $27-$36

Motor first, track next.

Also see this:

Can anyone vouch for this "solution"?

My moms trans am had a window motor go out under warranty. Under 36k miles/3 years

Its one of the most common f-body problems.

Ive only had 1 go out in the 38k miles i've had mine

150,000 miles on my car, and both windows are still working. However, the passenger side is super slow.

I would say its a motor. Might check locally if you are in a hurry. It's a pretty common problem. Also, you might let it sit and then try and help it up the rest of the way to keep from having to leave the car with the window cracked.
