Default Magnaflow exhaust / Long tubes review

Just got my LT's in today with a 3" texas speed catted Y pipe. I love how it sounds. At idle it is pretty tame but its really loud at wide open throttle. Alot of people say magnaflow is quiet but mine must be really broken in or something. I also noticed a performance gain in the upper rpm range. However the low end feels about the same, which is to be expected I guess. Over all Id give this setup a 10/10 I love it

Do you have any motor mods? The magnaflow was insanely loud on my car, I had to take it off.

I see why yours was louder, you had the aftermarket cam in there. those ALWAYS amplify how loud a car is. My magnaflow was entirely too quiet so it got ditched.

It'll have it etched onto the exhaust tips, and stamped on the muffler itself if it's magnaflow.

Cant tell what it says on the muffler, and the tips dont say anything. All I know is that its not stock. It looks just like the magnaflow w/dual tips that they advertise on their site and sounds like it too.

More than likely it then. It would be real obvious if it had the cannon single tips on each side like my old kit did.

The muffler is too discolored too tell for sure but heres a pic of the tips.

Also one downfall with the headers is the y pipe hangs extremely low (pacesetter)

I had LT's, ORY, and magnaflow on my T/A and loved it. Of course the cam helped. It was noticeably louder at all rpms and sounded great at WOT. I also put on a 3" electric cutout for those times that I wanted to be ridiculously loud.

Those aren't magnaflow tips. They are too small for the quad tips they offer. You might have an SLP Dual/Dual kit.

I'm about to that point too. I put it on last week and it's way to o quiet for my taste. On that note if anybody want to buy a Magnaflow catback with 20 miles...

They've only had one dual tip style ever on those, and they are dual 4" openings on each side. Those are entirely too small to be Magnaflow. They really do either look like swapped out dual tips on that setup, or it's the SLP Dual/Dual.

I wonder what muffler it is then. Because it really does have that magnaflow tone to it lol. Ill check out the slp dual tips and see if they match. thx for the responses.

Hooker maybe? Hooker and magnaflow sound a lot alike to me. Quiet at idle, loud at full throttle.

Magnaflow has a great tone, but I don't go around driving full throttle all the time so too quiet for me...
