Default Head Gasket for my 408

Shop is assembling my 408. What head gasket should I run? Really want something thin. Motor will see 200+ n2o. I need a part #.

I saw an option on Texas Speed to get a Cometic that was .030". Fact is, I don't really know what the best choice would be, hence the posting of this thread. Most gaskets run around .050" +/-.

What's your target compression? What cc heads? Piston head volume? Deck clearance?

I'm running a .030 thick with a 4.040 bore cometic gasket with head studs for my 408. No issues at all. Cometic will tailor your gasket to whatever you want.

Give us some specs on the bottom end. How much does the piston come up out of the bore, whats the dish/dome on the piston, heads you are running

Remember if you run a cometic the deck and head surface need to be a certain RA for proper sealing.
