Default Temp sensor?

Anyone know how the 98' coolant temp sensor is suppose to be wired? i'm trying to distinguish which is the pwr, ground, and signal for the gauge.

One wire is ground
One wire is the sensor for the PCM and the other wire is the sensor for the gauge

Any ideas as to which color represents what. I'm sure that black is ground, but then theres a red and green wire, these things aint exactly cheap and easy to find at the local parts store.

Pin, Wire Color, Circuit No., Function

A, BRN, 718, Engine Coolant Tenperature (ECT) Sensor Ground

B, YEL, 410, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Signal

C, DK GRN, 135, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Output

Anyone have a part number for a '98 LS1 coolant sensor? The 3 wire thing is hard to find vs the later 2 wire style.

Pin C goes to the Gauges, the other 2 go to the PCM.

If the resistance/temp value of the GM sensor is the same as the aftermarket sensor you should be able to use it. You would have to do some research to determine that, though.


Good info here.
I am doing an LS swap into my '96 and want to keep all the gauges in my original cluster functional for a seamless integration.
