pilot bearing??

Default pilot bearing??

i just finished up my build and bringing it to my tuner to fix some problems i am having and finish up my car. question is the pilot bearing already installed on my new crank? i know for a fact i didnt install one. but i know i didnt take it off my old setup. im not entirely sure where it actually is? can someone help me out

Here's the pilot bearing:

It is located in the back of the crank. The end of your transmission input shaft rests inside this pilot bearing.

Did you replace or reinstall the clutch? Usually, an alignment tool is placed into the pilot bearing to hold the clutch disc in place until the pressure plate is installed.. Without your pilot bearing you would not have been able to use this tool.

i installed a new monster. do they come on new cranks? i bought a compstar 4.00 crank.

He is right, you have to install it yourself. When you purchase a new crank, they have no way of knowing if its going with an Auto or manual trans. It's available at any local auto parts store. Part number L381.

alright thanks guys. does anybody know how many hours it will take a shop to install one? im trying to get an estimate of how much it will cost me

Most shops charge anywhere from $200-$400 labor.
