Default GXP tire sizes, how big on the rears?

Found a nice deal on some tires, but not sure if the rears will work or not. 245/40/18, too big or not? I figure if we can squeeze 275's on the front, 245's out back shouldnt be an issue but wanted to check first.

Another dilema is the fact that the fronts are 275/35/40. I'm afraid the sidewall will look way to small with the 35. I'm lowered, but I fear the fenderwell looking huge again (pre SSC's). Anyone running 275/35's?

Why not just buy the correct size you might be asking??? Well, they're basically sold as a package and can be had in those sizes for $530 bucks shipped. My fronts are wearing thin and I hate the thought of only buying fronts and having mismatched tires (wanting 275's up front). Not sure what I'll do just yet. Thoughts?

Joe.

Cool deal, thanks JP. I went back and found out these were the exact same size I ran on my old WS6, and as you can see there is basically no sidewall, probably wouldnt look right on the GXP:

Looks like I'm gonna have to shell out more cash than I wanted, go figure, lol.

255/45-18 fits in the rear.

Now if the odd few who happen to have 275s up front would only be so kind as to see if 275 would fit in the rear, it would quell all of our curiosities.

The offset and size differences on the wheels wouldn't mesh. We'd have to get a shop to unmount both tires, mount the 275s on the 7" (Which I think may be too big), then unmount it again, then remount both.

If it weren't for all that, I'd do it.

EDIT: Unless you're planning on running the fronts all around.

Bingo.

I've got two sitting in the garage with no rubber. I just want someone to take their existing fronts wheels with 275s and put them on the rear to test for clearance. Maybe even do a little drive.
