True Duals = True Quiets
Was running PS Longtubes 3" Summit X open. Was very loud. sounded amazing. But had 0 back pressure, and was a little obnoxious.
Now im running the same setup but with two 2 chamber flowmasters.
Im in love with the exhaust note. However it is entirely too quiet for a car running longtubes and true duals.
How would these compare against single chambers?
And am i losing or canceling out any advantages i would have over running another muffler setup?

What is this back pressure you speak of
Anyways food for thought an optimal exhaust over any setup is headers with extensions which is a small section of pipe running off each header with no x over. Your setup would be no different then anyone else who runs an X pipe who claims its the best setup out there, maybe in the case of street use it is but other then that meh mostly just extra weight.
Anyways getting back more on topic flowmasters are not really the best to be using especially a 2 chamber if your looking for loud. Go with some type of bullet muffler on your X.

I was searching craigslist yesterday and saw your car on there, thought I remembered seeing it somewheres else.
A buddy of mine has ran both the two chamber 40's and the single chambers and the single chambers are definitely louder. I think the two chambers have a better tone but if you still want that flowmaster tone then I would get the single chambers otherwise I would suggest a bullet style muffler.

Dynomax bullets, even on a stock LS1 with mids/dump they sound quiet at idle, but bark with authority if you get on it. I don't think I will ever run another muffler unless I have to be very quiet for some reason.

The Hooker Maxflow made the best power while still being very quiet at idle/2000rpm, but nice and loud at WOT. The Bassani Real Street also made nice power without being too loud. Anybody have any feedback on these mufflers?

Flowmasters flow fine in their straight through mufflers. The crossflow that goes into the stock location is why flowmasters have such a bad rap around here because that specific muffler doesn't flow as good as others. With mufflers, you have quiet or free-flowing, or somewhere in between. Not both 99.9% of the time. The act of quieting is restrictive by design.
OP, make the switch to single chambers, I think that will do what you want.

that list has been around a while, seen it on hotrodder.net i think..
theres another list floating around that has the summit branded mufflers on it and they were in 2nd place...
hard to beat a mesh core glasspack for all out flow..
i think the best flowing muffler at the moment is the magnaflow ultraflo.. then the flowmaster delta flo's are good..
