oil and transmission dip stick
I just wanted to get an idea what other people are doing for their oil and tranny dip sticks? The ones that came with my LQ9 stick way out. Are most people cutting them down, or picking up something aftermarket, or something from the junk yard?

Lokar is all I have ever used! My new A6 trans does not even have a dipstick, I guess they figured that they don't need them anymore. There is a plug where the dipstick can be installed, But I may just do without because clearance is so tight. They use a fill level tube that comes in from the bottom of the pan on A6 transmissions.

My LQ4 dip stick was waay to long. I got a Mr Gasket dipstick for a 67-78 302 Ford. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-6920/?rtype=10
Its 13 inches long from the bulge at the block to the to of the handle. I paid $8.99 for it. I will just cut the dipstick down to correctly measure the amount of oil in the pan.
