Default Should I rebearing a motor while I'm changing rod bolts?

I have an 02 motor with 80K miles on it with a 232/234 cam and ls6 heads. I plan on upgrading the rod bolts but while I'm in there should I replace the main bearings? Also what rod bolts should I go with? Btw, oil pressure is great on the motor, so the bearings are still good.

02 already has the upgraded rod bolts. I wouldn't suggest just throwing new bearings in there. Are you talking about pulling the motor and having it freshened or what?

I have 99 z28. I was thinking about changing out the bolts too. I was thinking should I go ahead and change the rods and pistons too

If you're ging to pull the bearing why not at least get the crank polished and checked at an engine shop. If not I say leave them in there and just get the oil sampled every oil change and see what the wear is on the engine.

I honestly wouldn't even bother at 80K but thats just me and it's not my engine.

True... You probably won't need to spin it up to 7k anyways so I'd just leave it as is unless your gonna do a full rebuild...

I plan on dropping the k-member because my oil pan gasket is leaking and needs to be replaced. Since I'm already down there I figured I would upgrade the rod bolts anyway for a little extra insurance.

You already have the good bolts so I would leave it alone unless you plan to regularly see 7k+....

The correct way to do it would be to have the rods re-sized. Most get away without doing that, but you are taking a chance. I would just leave them alone.

if you had a pre 01 car then its well worth changing those bolts but you can throw in some ARP bolts if you really want to,

there is a much better chance of you messing something up by doing that then the benefits you would get with your setup as of right now.
