5.4hrs for the clutch disc on a 6 speed.
+.2 for the pilot
+.2 for the flywheel.

I watched a guy do it on my car in about 4 hours or so, but the exhaust was pretty easy to drop on my car at the time. It just depends on what might be in the way of dropping the transmission out of there.

Before you get there, familiarize yourself with removing the center console and shifter if you aren't already - that'll save some time if you can breeze through it.

I like working at a nice leisurely pace when doing big jobs, so I spent about 8 hours last time around. That was on my own though in my driveway. If you have an extra set of hands (especially experienced ones) with a good selection of tools you could knock it out quite a bit quicker.

I'm assuming you're talking about an f-body. I'd say 3 hours if he's experienced. Good luck man. I'm about to take my Spec 3 out and put an LS7 in.

With a lift I agree; 2.5 hours max.

4 to 5 hours crazy????
I didn't say how much time it would take the guy.
He asked what the average time it would take.
5.4 is book rate. That is the hours that tech would get paid to complete the job. Crazy or not, I did not make up that time. A good efficient tech can normally cut the flat rate in half if he/she has done the service before.
Being he is a trans tech, I am sure he can do it in 2 but will still bill 5.4 hours for the job.
Being a tech myself, if I was doing a side job, I would think getting paid my hourly rate x book rate would be more than fair by both parties. That is actually how I pay for my toys.

Yeah he is a transmission guy we will be using air tools. He's friends with my brother. He said I didn't need to pay him but will anyway. Thanks for the help. Figured 200 should be ok. 50 an hour on avg?

200 is more than fair!
He is up 200 and you have saved way more than that depending on local shop rates.
I wish all my families friends were as generous as you.

Yeah i do HVAC and hate it when friends want me to do stuff for free even though i do because i cant say no. Especially if it is someone i dont see or know all that well. So i tend to pay people or trade labor for labor.

Good man, same here.
As we speak I'm getting new tile put in my bathroom in exchange for rear brake job and an intake manifold gasket.
