Default Need a list of ALL the Accessories and Brackets for an LQ4 - LS1 Accessory Conversion

I need it for an LS1 Camaro Conversion and I want to find some of the parts used or in salvage yards...

What are the brackets, pulleys, and accessories I'll need?

I mean EVERY last little part too, and I'm keeping A/C

The Water and Power steering pump will be purchased new.

Thank you for the description, if I wanted to find these parts used, what would be a good place to search? Car-Part.com didnt allow me the specific options to search for them.

Brackets can be pretty hard to come by in yards (at least around here they are), you might be better off seeing what yards near you have LS1 F-bodies through car-part.com and then physically going there and talking to the person at the counter about your project and what you need.

I think you also need to add a crank pulley to your list, the F-body accessories sit closer to the engine and I don't think the stock truck pulley will line up with them. Also, if I remember correctly, the bolt that holds the crank pulley on is a 1 time use bolt, you will either have to get another from your dealer or get a re-usable ARP one.

If your looking to save money use the truck alt, PS and crank pulley and cut the bracket and get the idler pulley relocation bracket so you can use the the car intakes on the truck motors. Get the fbody water pump and change the pulley. If you get the SSR or Trailblazer EXT A/C compressor and bracket it bolts to the block and one of the vendors on the SSR forum sells a lower A/C bracket for $75 dollars that bolts to the oil pan and allows you to use the rear sump pans. The Fbody Accesories cost a fortune the P/S pump alone without the Reservoir and bracket is like $275 dollars? If the alternator hits the hood try an old style one from a 94 S-10 truck. Someone on Maliburacing.com posted up that it bolted to the stock bracket and is smaller for more clearence.

Would this parts list be compatible to an aluminum 5.3?

Does anyone know of any links that have a schematic or overview photo that shows the complete motor?
Thanks

Yes the parts list applies to the 5.3 also. The blocks are the same.

Default Accessory Bracket

Hi, need4camaro, do you have the accessory bracket yet? I have a new bracket that we were going to use in a 57 Belair LS install ended up not using because the engine had a corvette balancer on it and had to use a different bracket. If you are interested let me know, make you a killer deal. gpa612010@live.com

You will also need to drill and tap the block for the front upper alt bolt. It's m10x1.50.

Default Another Alternative

You can also try http://www.dirtydingo.com/store/index.php for parts that will adapt the LQ4 front drive to use the LS1/6 water pump and intake. This will eliminate the need to drill and tap the block, but will probably run you about $400. I'm doing it to get around my clearance issue with the taller LQ4 intake and alternator bracket.
