it's called the whistler because of the guy who "created" it's username was whistlers.

pictures don't do them justice. much better looking in real life. really sinister styling.

I would have at least done them in Semi Gloss cause to me, flat is a little on the boring side. But the work looks good on yours.

The guy who first did that mod and that made it popular was named "whistler" he has (or had) a very nice car. So the mod was just named after him since he came up with it for these cars.

whistler mod is the best bang appearance mod for the buck. I debated on aftermarket headlights but for a $5 can of krylon they look awesome. They look good and post up some pics of them installed.

No, the flat really looks awesome in real life. pictures don't do them justice.
semi gloss, and gloss just don't look right if you ask me. especially rattle can.

Mine came with the Whistler mod done when I bought the LS1 front clip, also the guy I bought it from sanded down the "nipples" on the headlights for a smoother look. He stopped sanding at 1000 grit or something because I had to resand the lights and polish them to get the scratches out. I want to redo mine and have my painter spray them with the correct black (ppg 100% black) we used when we painted the car. (Im picky, I guess lol) But heres a couple pics of them for ya...

yeah, i thought about doing that, but i just couldn't bring myself to start sanding on 15k mile headlights. maybe once they start fogging up, i'll do this to them.
