Default accumulator?

Pretty sure I lost at least one rod bearing my last time out.....I'm thinking it's from oil starvation from the hard launches. I'm gonna buy a baffle that bolts to the stock pan that has the trap doors in it.(I don't wanna spend the money on the moroso pan). That should help alot, but I want more insurance against this problem.

Where can I plumb an accumulator into on my ls2 block? The ports above the filter are being used to feed my turbos, so that's out. Where else can this be plumbed into?

Any info would be appreciated.

Has anyone ever used the oil pressure sensor bung at the rear of the valley cover for this?

A accumulator is not going to prevent the problem. They are a really good preoiler. small amount of protection from them.

Masterlube makes a really nice unit. I will be getting one for pre oiling.

Contact Tim over at the Car Shop he has some cool things going on with these ls pumps that should help with your issues.

The accumulator is used for pre oiling..... It also will inject oil through the motor when the oil pressure drops below the pressure inside the accumulator tank. I want it as insurance along with the a trap door baffle to keep oil around the pickup tube.

It is only a band aid. Not a fix. The baffel and some tricks with the pump and pick up tube will fix the issues.

Yeah I would like the added insurance of it. It's of course not the cure all but a great backup and nice to have it for startup.....The plan is to make this bottom end last more than the 100 miles I put on it. Lol
