Lid Test in new GMHTP
For any one with lid questions, go buy the new GMHTP. They test 7 lids at the track. The verdict-there all pretty damn close.

Guys I'd advise you to stop now all the talk about GMHTP.
I got an e-mail from one of the editors and he was PISSED that all we do is make fun of the magazine on this forum.
Wow, finally I get a chance to take back all the nasty things I said in this post:

So Rick, Am I off the hook now?
Tony
Boy is this kissing *** or what?

I personally would love to see a shootout on the headers/exhaust. Which is the best header? Testing done on a completely stock car, and then on a stroker/big cube. Measure AF ratio, adjust AF after each switch, that simple. Thanks.

gmhp lid comparison
read that article last night - even though they are pretty close, the difference between my lid (G2 - LGMotorsports) and the best on the dyno (Granatelli) was about 5-6 HP & 7-8 TQ. I have to say I'm tempted to sell mine and get the GMS model when I get my SSRA next week. I know a lid is a lid but......

I read GMHTP for the 3rdGen and TR stuff, but get my 4thGen info from this site. It is a decent mag, but it seems to be too non-confrontational. If GMHTP had a vendor's part explode and damage the car they were testing, they would still compliment the part. That's why they don't do many shootouts unless on stuff you would expect similar results...like lids. The Reader's Rides has been pretty stale and most of the cars that GMHTP tests are "shop cars." I'll renew my subscription after I move, but just for entertainment value...

What got me was...how come at the beginning of the article it says, if you think all lids are the same you might be surprised at the results? The results sure seemed to say a lid is a lid is a lid to me...

GMHTP is great reading materials for the bathroom. I wouldn't get my tech info there though.
