Advanced Induction 243 CNC port gains 49HP/32TQ and 5 tenths/5mph
This cars 1/4 ET's dropped by 1/2 second, and gained 5mph @ 3800lb race weight after the addition of the A.I. 243 heads.
Anyway, here's the setup on this one...
Previous:
-1998 Z28
-LS6 intake
-Stock TB ported by Spartan
-Stock MAF
-Pacesetter headers w/ TSP True duals
-2002 LQ9 block
-Cam Motion 224/228 113 camshaft
-Stock, unported and unmilled 243's
-Comp 918's
-Big heavy LS7 clutch
-4:11's and 315/35R17 drag radials
Previous #s were 404/368. I will have a graph up soon
Additions:
-Advanced Induction 243 CNC program
-Stock sized sodium filled valves
-PSI 1511 beehive valve springs
-Heads were cut ~.030. Still had more than adequate PTV
-Retuned by Spartan
New #s - We are still running the stock LS6 intake, TB, injectors, and MAF on this run
These heads performed on the dyno, and the track. The car is a blast to drive on the street with the big fat TQ curve.
We just finished installing a ported BBK intake, 85mm TB, 85mm MAF, 85mm lid, and SVO 36's. I will repost #'s once its retune for those additions.
Cheers.

12.5's @ 114'ish. After the heads it's now a solid 12.0 @ 119-120mph car. He's still running on the stock 10 bolt/street tires, @ a 3800 race weight. (and his shifts are slow as ***** too )
If they could get 2-300lbs out of the car and a real drivetrain this car would go low 11's all day long.

If a car makes TQ where it counts, in the 2-6K range, it's going to haul ***. I build most of my setups based around the idea of getting the car moving with low end TQ, rather than a high revving valve spring snapping 240 duration camshaft that needs 4:56's to go anywhere.

tell me about it. But I have no tolerance for anyone driving a 3600 lb car complaining about lack of low end, lol. I'm pushing 5000lbs and a 4l80e. Talk about the need for low end torque.

a nice twin to my 243s from AI.. I gained 55 rwhp / 36 lb/ft tq from mine. Before with cam only my best time at the track was 12.5 at 114.53 2.03 60 ft (only went once to track with cam only setup).. after the heads I went 11.79 at 124.69 mph 2.01 60 ft with more mph to go. AI FTW!
