Default 2001 ss camaro ready for stage 2 of build

i have an 01 ss camaro that i just rebuilt it had a little damage all over but the car only had 66k so i went with it i had the car completly redone at a professional body shop and the car is simpley gorgeous now its time for peformance im gonna drop the motor and tranny out i already have an ace racing trans 4l60e stage 3 trans with a 3500 stall converter so that is covered i put a set of billet specalties wheels and mickey thompson tires so i should get a good hook at the track so at last i need info on what to do to the engine im planning on doing a total rebuild on it i want a good moter that will live! what is a good cam choice, intake and injectors im gona send my heads and have them ported basically thats as far as i thought this build out so far i would like to know what worked for you all and what didnt my time goal is 7.50s in the 1/8 and i dont want to spray it
ps. im thinking of buying the elderbrock pro flow set up but would really like to keep my windshield wipers so if you know of any other setups like that let me know

Lots and lots of options out there. Are you looking to rebuild the LS1 or build something else? The LS1 can easily be built to run consistant 7.50s and last forever. Get full bolt-ons, heads/cam and a FAST intake and you should be low 7s.

I'm Gona build the ls1 that's the direction I'm goin in with out the fast intake I would like some kinda aluminum intake just for looks I'm wanting to run a bunch of cruise ins with the car to

look at some TSP heads and a cam pkg. or maybe get some 243 heads ,you can have advance induction or TEA port them if you want more power..a ls6 intake which you have ,and a EPS cam will make the power to run 7.5. look at a BBK or weiand alum intake and powder coat or paint them.get the bigger opening for a bigger TB.you will need bigger injectors.what rear gear will you use.whats your budget?.you will need some suspension mods and drag radials.

well as far as budget im lookin to spend around 5-7 more i already have the trans and new drag radials which i went to jegs and bought the good direct fit billet specialties rear wheels and mickey radials and 4 inch front wheels iv drag raced for years iv just never had a good cruiser im gona post more pics and a couple of my tube chassis fox body im currently racing

I would definitly get a new rear end first, then use the rest of your budget for the motor.
