Other than "not working", what exactly is wrong with the turn signals? Both sides or just one? How about the hazard lights?

The hazard lights work fine, when I want to use the turn signal, either left or right the light just stays solid, does not flash/blink at all

If both sides are doing the same thing, there's only two possibilities - there isn't enough load on each side to make the flasher trip (usually burned out bulbs but can be corroded sockets or broken wires) or the flasher is bad. Are you sure all the bulbs are flashing properly with the hazard lights? That's the quickest way to find a problem - turn on the hazard flashers and walk around the car checking the lights. An electronic flasher will sometimes solve problems like this because they don't depend on current draw to keep flashing.

He wouldn't be able to install an incorrect flasher without forcing it. Any 2-prong flasher will work. It's only when you get into 3-prong flashers that there are different terminal configurations.

I brought the flasher to the shop with me, they crossed it at the auto store. My car had the original flasher in it. With the new flasher installed, the lights are still working( or not) as before. Hazards flash, left and right turn signal stay solid. Could it be the relay?( white item in the pic)

If its an electronic flasher, it should work. (It looks like it is one in the picture.) However; if the new flasher is thermal, the auto parts store won't have the correct one.

I'd suggest switching the hazard and turn signal flashers and then see what happens. You might have a dud or you may have purchased a bad flasher that someone returned to the store and slipped back in the blister pack.

The one I initially had in there was an aluminum circular one( probably the original) that was replaced by the one in the pic...Is the hazard flasher the white item? What is the blue item?

Not sure on a 87. I'd expect your hazzard flasher to look the same as your original turn signal flasher. On my 1999, they look the same but hook up at different spots.

Do some of those cars have two flashers? I have a 89 T/A and remember that for some reason. I might be drunk too.
