I'd say the install price and alignment price are pretty high. The rear springs are stupidly easy to do and the fronts don't take much time at all. I don't know what your situation is, but I would at the very least consider doing it yourself. It's a simple install and when you do have money together to buy shocks you won't have to pay again to have that installed.

The alignment, most shops charge extra for modified cars but normally i've seen prices right around $100 to align a lowered car.

I replaced the rear springs and shocks in my other TA and I did that with a jack and a couple jackstands. Took me a couple hours maybe. 500 bucks is ridiculously high in my opinion. 200 for an alignment? You need to find another shop.

this.....the prices you were quoted were WAY HIGH......it's really not hard to do, you just have to rent a spring compressor, i rented one from Orielly's and lowered mine in a few hours......i had never done it before and didn't really know how the front suspension worked, but afterwards i understood everything......even if you're not mechanically inclined you could throw the rear springs in easily.......alignment at the firestone store is 52 bucks for one time, 80 for lifetime service......search around and get a better price......there's also a video on step-by-step on streetfire.net i think

Seriously the rear springs are as easy as you can get. The fronts are not hard either just take your time and rent a spring compressor from autozone(free you just put a deposit on it).

install should not be more then 4 hrs tops worth of work by a shop.

my buddy just paid $225 to get his lowering springs installed along with strut mounts and relocation brackets. This was at Speed Inc. in IL. Idk where you are from but your best bet are performance shops that are probably sponsors on this site.

that seems really high. I paid 575 for a shock and spring install along with bumpstops and new strut mounts AND an alignment. I provided all the parts except the strut mounts. Labor was only $59/hr and they said it took about 5 hours. This was at a specialty suspension shop though.

That's high. Rears you can do in 30-60 minutes. Fronts are a little tougher, but don't take long to do. I had a mechanic I know do them on the side for $75 for just the front. Alignment was $50 for me at a GM dealership

The shop don't wanna do it that's why quote you a high price. You should looking at around $400-500 included alignment.

Yeah that is an awfully HIGH price. Just rent the tool and tackle it yourself.

Like the others said, around the midwest its usually $60 to get an alignment on a vehicle. Rear springs are ridiculously easy. Use a jack and lift the car up by the rear differential, put two jackstands on the subframe, and let the rear end drop down...you can usually pull them out by hand, shocks are 2 bolts each to take out in the back.

use LS1Howto.com and do the install yourself, then just go somewhere and get an alignment once you're done. i pay $40 for a front end alignment at a local shop.

Front Spring/Shock swap

Rear Sprint/Shock swap

just to add one thing on the front swap that they don't include in that article, be sure that once you take the 2 Torx bolts out from under the brake booster, in order to prevent it from being a major pain in the *** in the event you ever have to do it again, swap them out with 2 of the standard hex-head bolts from the passenger's side....they're the same length and thread, but putting the Torx bolts on the passenger's side will make it much easier to remove again next time, and you may not even need to loosen the brake booster on the driver's side, depending on if you have wrenches that will slide under it without binding.
