Default s10 lm7 swap

just like the title says, but my question is how do i pass emissions in illinois... i only have to pass an obdII monitors test, no real inspection for anything 95 and older... how would i go about getting a 2000 to pass? would i just have my tuner tune out the codes? please advise quickly, planning on buying the truck this week

Can you reregister the truck in a county that doesn't have emissions? I told the dmv that my truck is kept in baraboo, wi. and my mailing address is Milwaukee. I don't have to my truck for emissions.

most of illinois doesn't have emissions. Chicago has emissions, central illinois and southern illinois don't.

What if I were to remove the codes with hp tuners, then the pcm wouldn't know to look for those systems, which would mean system pass which would mean emmissions pass

You need to set the codes to "Do Not Report"

My 2000 S10 Blazer ( 6 liter, CNC heads, TR blower cam, Long tubes, dual cats, all emissions equipment hooked up, 4 O2 sensors, no codes, readiness flags all show ready) has passed every time in Dallas. (Same testing regime as Cook County) Passed OBD2 and sniffer. Wouldn't make it in California because of the long tubes.

Huh, good to know, I just found a 95 s10 extended cab for 1200 so emissions testing wont be a problem, but more on the hptuners... if I don't install any emission equipment and say do not report I'll have no check engine light correct?

95 is a bastard year, most tuning packages don't support it

That I understand, but it I use a 99 silverado engine ALDL connector or pcm I should be tuning a 99 rather than a 95. Right?

Correct, if you're using a 99 pcm and OS, but what did you do for the ABS, since most of those bastard year PCM controlled the ABS or didn't your truck have it?

yes the truck has abs, but as http://www.currentperformance.com/s10wir.html states (summarized from what i remembered) that you will use both computers, the stock s10 pcm will control things like abs & Cruise control, the lm7 pcm will control everything else. also, it comes with a second aldl connector that ill just run to inside the cab so i can tune and read codes from the comfort of some Corbeau Seats
