I don't think these vehicles have a safety switch. What year is it?

Does the car try to turn over? Or does it not crank at all?

If you dont get power or it doesnt crank... Check the fuses, if your battery holder is broken like every fbody ive seen your battery could have easily grounded and blown a fuse or even the ECU.

If you get power, and it does crank, check the wires around the rearend (look where the rear seats are, but on the outside, follow those lines to the pump)... especially if you were hit on the drivers side... Make sure the fuel lines and wires are not damaged or pinched.

I purchased it from an older woman who just happens to be the FIRST owner! An never let another under the hood, always took it to rydell for its reg maintn and tune-ups!! Yeah, I hear ya. Hopefully insurance will take care of you... but they total these cars for the smallest damage. Only thing that might save you is the low mileage.

Keep posting up with what you find!

Actually if any of the vehicles "air bags" deploy, the vehicle is considered totalled (insurance company wise). If this occurs, and you feel that you can fix the vehicle, you can purchase it back (after payout) with a new "salvaged" title.

Definately true, but Ive yet to get an fbody where the bags were deployed. And they all have been drivable, literally turn key and go.

no bags deployed...but i checked the fuel lines an electrical wires goin to the fuel pump an they are all intact an connected.Im hearing these cars came with a safety feature incase of an accident when hit from the rear end the fuel pump automatically "kills itself/shuts down" permanently?

With a good battery....

That should be easy to test... does the car prime when you key on? (can you hear the pump)

Do you have fuel pressure? if you dont have a gauge to test it, pull off the cap on the drivers side fuel rail, put a bottle or something to catch the fuel... and try to start the car. If there is fuel coming out you have fuel pressure. it wont be a whole lot, but there should be some fuel coming out.

If you have fuel pressure... And the car is turning over but not starting, try replacing the starter and ignition relays under the hood. They are like $12 a piece. (id just borrow a set from a friend for 5 min and see if it works)

If That still doesnt work you need to get a noid light to see if your getting spark.

If you still dont have spark I would check the cam position sensor and crank position sensors... You might have to get a code reader to see if either of those are faulty.

Other then that it should start. It may not run well (if something else is wrong)... but it should start.

Besides having a loose ground...could the fuel pump have gone bad on impact? Cuz I can still hear the pump turn on but its a very dull,low-pitched humm, not as loud as it was before

Put a fuel pressure tester on it and see what your pressure is.
