Cool supercharged 5.3 rebuild. help?

Hey guys i have a 04 gmc sierra with a 5.3 Right now its torn all the way down to the block because i had a magna charger on it and wound up with some piston problems after about 70k. Im in the process of rebuilding the engine my self and have some questions about what route i should take. My cyclinder walls are scored in a few cyclinders so i have to bore it. The shop it was at already said it was sonic tested and passed. So my question is how far can i take it. I want to keep the blower and also was thinking heads and cam.?? any advice or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

only take it as far as it needs. no reason to bore it to the max. you could have issues down the road and not be able to bore it again.

Id say bore to 3.905 get forged pistons and rods stick some 243 heads on it and call it good. Of course if your budget allows that. If not then keep the stock rods get forged pistons then stick some 243's on it.

so say i take it to a 3.905 with forged pistons and rods. then got the 243s i could still run the supercharger and it should be a screaming beast? Sorry if i seem i'll knowledged i know the basics just not the inner workings and the different combonations. But i know i have a engine with all the workings and i want to make a Beast of of it.

If money isnt a big issue... Forge that b##ch. Slap a set of cnc'ed 243's on it and a cam spec'd from pat g and that thing will be a monster.

In all honesty id get a low mileage 6.0 put forged pistons and a cam with lifters and pushrods etc. and magnacharge that. You could be well over 500hp

Okay heres my situation. Moneys not a huge issue because i have time. But its still not just a build my dream engine. the 5.3 block i have is already stripped down. been hot tanked and sonic tested, and checks good. My stock heads have already been cleaned and have had a valve job done to give them the 3 edge's. The block has to be bored due to scoreing in a few cylinders. So pistons are a must already. Its either scrap that block and go with the 6.0 start fresh. or continue to fix up the 5.3 and see what she'll do. Im at a loss because i dont know enough about what combo's do best here and what does best their. The only thing i do know is i wanna keep the magna charger on. I cant get away from the sound haha.

With what you will have in that 5.3 along with what you already have in it you could buy a 6.0. Then spend alil extra cam it and get forged pistons. Sell the 5.3. Get a set of tfs or trickflow heads for it and you will have a motor that will blow doors off cars. Call trickflow see what they recommend for heads for the 6.0 with the charger then call pat g for a cam. Dont be afraid to call these guys there the best of the best.

Im looking into the 6.0 right now to see how much i could get a block for. I wouldnt mind swapping over if i could get reasonable money for the 5.3 parts that wont be used so that its not a complete out of pocket build ya know. Seems how i already have money invested into the 5.3. What would it take it make the 5.3 "383 stroker" and then put the blower on that. Is that possible?

You would def. Have to bore it out to ls1 specs. And prolly have to buy a stroker kit for it. Id call texas speed see what they think or if its possible.
