Losing the cats would do it, but I don't think you would like the sound with those LM1s and no cats.

I think straight pipes with a dual/X would sound great.

OP - lets be honest man, those LM 1 resonators are just straight through pipe with some shiny coating on the outside, if you want loud, ditch the cats.

Would it be SIGNIFICANTLY louder or just a little louder. Say on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being slightly noticable difference and 10 being MAJOR difference.

The difference in sound will be substantial but I just cant imagine it being too quite either way having the lm1s on there, lol. Ditch the cats and it will wake up the sound for sure.

Straight pipes sounds like absolute dog **** on pretty much anything, a ls1 being among the worst v8s.

Are you deaf? Your car is loud now!

If you wanted it louder than straight pipes or open headers I guess the only thing left is dragster style zoomies which only look good on dragsters. Beyond that, I guess you could start running retarded high compression, a huge cam, nitromethane or all three.

...and I agree with thunderstruck507's opinion on straight pipes which to me carries on to open headers.

ditch the cats...find a different catback that is quieter so you can drive around without your car being so obnoxiously loud, get 2 cutouts and put one on each header.

Step one, remove true duals.

Step two, remove mid-pipe and cats.

Step three, remove headers.

Step four, drive and enjoy.

Step five, make an appointment with an Otolaryngologists

I think step five should be step one.

Just my opinion, but maybe I'm too old.

Just run wot 100% the time. Hell. Just take the headers off. Cut some straight pipes and a hole in the hood and have 8 stacks
